This program exists to develop the next generation of professional foresters. By supplementing technical know-how with hard-won stories and insights from a lifetime of service in the timber industry, I hope to pass on the best of what I’ve learned to California’s future foresters.

A Registered Professional Forester cultivates our timberlands to be more productive and sustainable. I am more motivated than ever to ensure California leads the way in creating the timber industry of the future. I have spent a lifetime in forestry in California– working as a field forester in the private sector, assisting landowners in the management of their lands, and working in government with the State Board of Forestry and Fire Protection to develop policies and regulations. Currently, I serve as the Senior Vice President for Calforests, assisting in policy and regulatory development for the forestry sector.

What began as a passion project—something I did on the side when I had time, has grown beyond my wildest expectations. I am excited to see it develop and continue to grow to serve more foresters across the state of California.
